El Paso High...61/61
October 6-8 2022

Well it's all coming together, all those Zoom meetings, Dianne Doan counting every penny and strategizing with Irene Branson, George Peinado beating the bushes for attendees, Jim Persing busily posting on the website, Skip Krupp transcribing meeting minutes at midnight and everyone energized by mover and shaker Jerry Rubin.

All overseen, of course, by Class President and resident Guardian Angel, Richie Ford.

To say El Paso has changed since those high school glory days would be an understatement.  We are headquartered at the Hotel Paso del Norte, exquisitely refurbished and anchoring an entertainment triangle with the El Paso Museum of Art, the restored Plaza Theater and the now lush Plaza of crocodile fame. Upscale dining has arrived with Anson 11 joining Cafe Central to tempt palates with a border spin on gourmet standards.

The streets are framed with light displays and artistic arches that recall El Paso's past, connecting this modernized section with the storefronts that haven't changed in fifty years. Busy vendors are still selling essentially the same merchandise to essentially the same customers.

We have a spacious hospitality room and Irene and Dianne have filled it with snacks and drinks, our fabulous tee shirts, EPHS water bottles and a show and tell section of classmate art and crafts and tableaux from their careers.  Judy Haddad organized the envelopes with itineraries and name tags to keep us on the straight and narrow. By the way, if you are unsure of what you ordered for lunch or dinner just check the back of your name tag...Brilliant! Skip's slide show of previous EPHS reunions plays continuously on a big screen TV.

We picked Bob Drotman up from the airport and took him to Kiki's on N. Piedras.  It was get in touch with your Mexican food roots and we were not disappointed.  Bob went willingly.
